Study on CO2 Huff-n-Puff Development Rule of Horizontal Wells in Heavy Oil Reservoir by Taking Liuguanzhuang Oilfield in Dagang as an Example

Heavy oil reservoirs are often characterized by high viscosity and poor mobility, which is more complex with the presence of bottom water. The conventional vertical well development method has low recovery efficiency limited controlled reserves a single well. In addition, water cut can increase dramatically when edge-bottom breaks through. Horizontal CO2 huff-n-puff an effective alternative model for heavy reservoirs. This makes efficient use accords “Carbon Capture, Utilization, Storage (CCUS)”. horizontal drainage area. dissolution improves mobility crude increases formation energy. this paper, we established numerical simulation models based on Liuguanzhuang oilfield in Dagang. characteristics producing rules reservoir were studied. results show that production similar to Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD). forms reduction area above flows into wellbore due gravity after reduction. effectively enhance wells compared depletion development. However, improvement gradually decreased as cycles continued. There was boundary against well, main occurring at upper either end restraining effect water, confirmed via proposed theoretical model.
